CIRI Admissions and Registration Board

Independent oversight of registration standards and professional competence.

The CIRI Admissions and Registration Board (CARB) was established in September 2023. It is made up of a chairperson and 10 ordinary members, who encompass a broad range of disciplines and expertise to meet specified criteria. The CARB Chair and members were officially appointed by the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage.

Functions of the Admissions and Registration Board:

  • Recommend the register divisions, competences and eligibility requirements to the Minister of Housing, Local Government and Heritage (DHLGH).
  • Establish a CPD policy.
  • Determine the assessment process for admission to the register.
  • Approve applicants as registrants.
  • Review complaints relating to the register
  • Apply sanctions including removal from register if necessary.

The CIRI Admissions and Registration Board and the Appeals Committee are both independent of the CIF.
