The Board is made up of a chairperson and 10 ordinary members, who encompass a broad range of disciplines and expertise to meet specified criteria. The CARB Chair and members were officially appointed by the Minister for Housing, Local Government, and Heritage.
The Board is responsible for:
- Defining register divisions
- Setting admission requirements
- Assessing applications for registration
- An independent appeals committee
The Construction Industry Federation (CIF) manages the operational setup and administration of CIRI.
Both CIRI and the Admissions and Registration Board, and the appeals committee, are separate from CIF.
